With exceptional people skills and a dynamic, holistic approach to content creation, she has produced award-winning work, mentored countless filmmakers worldwide, and developed and designed University degrees that have shaped the next generation of creators.
Maia was born in Paris to Czechoslovakian parents. She has graduated from the world's most prestigious film and art schools; FAMU in Prague, The Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen, and a Masters in Film Directing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). She has directed award-winning Short films, Documentaries, Television, Commercials, Digital Content, and Music Videos, receiving international success, screening at over thirty esteemed international film festivals including Cannes, Palm Springs, Bermuda, Brooklyn, Sydney, Flickerfest, Brussels, and Edmonton. In 2006 she won the "Outstanding Film Maker Award" at HATCHFEST USA after being chosen as one of ten ground-breaking filmmakers from around the world.
Maia’s 360-degree approach spans concept creation to distribution, with industry collaborations across major brands and studios, demonstrating her ability to work across various sectors. Having lived and worked in cities like LA, Sydney, Barcelona, and Copenhagen, she brings a global perspective and excels in empathetic leadership skills. With exceptional people skills and a dynamic holistic approach to content creation, she is adept in multiple roles, including writing, directing, producing, and editing - delivering impactful, high-quality content across all stages of production.
